Moruya Airport Master Plan

for Eurobodalla Shire Council

REHBEIN Airport Consulting was commissioned by Eurobodalla Shire Council to prepare the Moruya Airport Master Plan 2015. The Master Plan forms part of the Concept Phase of the Moruya Airport Redevelopment project.

Building on work previously undertaken by Council it represents a comprehensive study of them airport. It proposes short-, medium-, and long-term development plans to meet future aviation demand and maximise future economic development potential of the airport site. The master plan summarises Council’s strategy for the development of the airport over a long-range planning horizon of up to 30 years.

A key component of the Master Plan is a land use precinct concept plan intended to guide the redevelopment of Moruya Regional Airport. The concept establishes key adjacencies and relationships between precincts while preserving flexibility to allow for uncertainties in relative demand for various uses.

The land use precinct concept was developed based on an assessment of potential economic development opportunities identified through a process of consultation with key stakeholders including existing airport tenants and Council personnel.

For each precinct, the plan identifies the background and need in relation to economic opportunities, the objectives of the precinct within the overall site, and key location and development considerations. A staging plan indicating expected sequencing, along with indicative development costs was also prepared.

It is intended that the development concept outlined in the Master Plan will feed into a detailed business case for the airport development project as a subsequent stage.
