for Parkes Shire Council
REHBEIN Airport Consulting was appointed by Parkes Shire Council as the principal consultant for the detailed design and documentation of an expansion of the Parkes Regional Airport passenger terminal facilities. The expansion constitutes the first phase of the ultimate terminal development outlined in the Parkes Regional Airport Master Plan, prepared in 2013 by REHBEIN Airport Consulting.
Our scope of services included the preparation of a functional design brief and obtaining quotes for architectural design services on behalf of Council. We then worked with the appointed architect, Noxon Gien, to deliver civil and structural engineering documentation, specialist airport operations expertise, project management and design coordination to the tender and construction issue packages.
We also coordinated the appointment and input of building services (mechanical, electrical and hydraulic), town planning and cost consultants, geotechnical investigation and survey, along with specialist studies required to discharge the Statement of Environmental Effects, necessary to ensure development approval in accordance with Council’s required timeframes which were tied to grant funding requirements.
With the design phase complete and a contractor now appointed, REHBEIN Airport Consulting will continue to provide civil and structural engineering input to the construction phase, which is being project managed by Council through a separate appointment.
